It’s been almost exactly one year since my last post. In it, I told you about how I was struggling to write because my family and I were facing some serious illnesses. I’m thrilled to report that the majority of these are now resolved and everyone is relatively healthy. Praise the dark gods.
I also told you I wouldn’t make bold statements anymore, promising to release this or release that because, let’s face it, this writing endeavour is a hobby for me. I hope one day this will change, but at the moment, my day job and my family are higher priorities.
Having said all this doesn’t mean that I can’t take my craft seriously and that I won’t write new books. Actually, I managed to get back to my desk and finish the next short story collection. I know. Cue the epic music. Shoot the fireworks. Pop the champagne. Dance with the dead and howl at the moon. I’ve already published it, and it’s available right now.
Here is the cover and the back cover blurb:
In the terrifying fourth volume of The Uninvited Words Collection, S Kovax returns with three brand new horror stories and an action-packed novella in two parts.
Witness the harrowing story of a young mother who will stop at nothing to rescue her kidnapped daughter, even if it means fighting the monsters of a gladiator-like game show. Follow along the strange encounter of a young soldier and a stubborn elderly lady in the aftermath of the apocalypse. Read the private diary entries of a wretched lone soul dealing in the foul art of sin-eating in 1600s London.
These are words without invitation, bringing terror and madness as their companions. Invading your mind to reveal a world of shadows where everything is possible. Weird, monstrous, and magical things dwell there, waiting only for you.
What readers say about S Kovax’s fiction:
‘Great collection of horror stories! These short stories go way beyond the usual horror themes. This author has a fantastic imagination.’
‘The Uninvited Words is a must-read for anyone who loves horror stories.’
‘The stories here are very good. Very bizarre, but realistic enough to make them even more horrifying. Definitely going to read the next volume.’
I know this is unexpected and out of the blue, but I hope it’s a pleasant surprise. If you honour me by buying the book, I will eternally keep the chalice raised in your name. If not, I will still raise it, but maybe not eternally.
I hope to invade your inboxes a bit more frequently in 2026, but as I mentioned earlier, no more promises. I shall be a mysterious ghost, appearing or disappearing at will. In any case, I hope you enjoy these new stories. I’m proud of how they turned out after all the hardship last year.
Happy horror reading.
